Just be patient for now. Don't say anything right now because you'll just come off as the psycho clingy girlfriend. It's entirely possible that he is just a flirty guy and everything they've seen is harmless. Tell them to keep their eyes open. If he actually does do something with another girl (or even if you just hear a rumor, etc) then you have a right to ask him about it. Thus far he hasn't done anything to deserve your distrust, has he?

Tell him you have been hearing things about him flirting with other girls behind your back. It may be nothing as some people are just flirts without them knowing it. But it may be something else. He maybe testing you and you need to find out what he is doing. Tell him if he is flirting and wanting to continue that if he is flirting with other girls then he doesn't get you. If he really likes you back then he will take your feelings into consideration and knock it off. If he is just trying to be a player, you don't need him. I know feelings are strong but you will find some one who isn't going to be playing head games with you. Tell him straight up and don't back down because he flashes his wonderful smile or bats his gorgeous eyes. You are to important of a person to be played.

Dont be a psycho...take in what your friends are saying and confront him...just slip it in 'My friends mentioned you flirt alot when I'm not around..is that true?'
see what he says...if he admits it or you know for sure he does it just say clearly that you dont like it and that your sure he would not like you to flirt with other men.

Listen to your friends, because they were there before you were with this guy. Instead of keeping an eye on him, confront him.

Keep him as long as he treats you right. Unless you're planning to get married, you both have and maintain the right to flirt.

How old are you? And yes listen to your friends. Do not let anyone take advantage of you in any way. Be good to yourself and do what is good for you.
