I saw on Jarhead this wall of shame while they were in Iraq. On this wall of shame they posted pictures of their girlfriends that cheated on them and/or left them while they were overseas. Is there such a thing ?

Depends on the unit and the location. Remember, Jarhead was written by a marine who was there... and marines are a brand of their own, let me tell you. At any rate, items such as that are allowable at the discretion of the commander. Does it exist everywhere? No, it's probably not common. However I'm willing to wager that there's at least one out there somewhere, even if kept in some soldiers' tent.

I did not see anything like that. However I did see that lots of guys and gals were left by loved ones during the tour. Perhaps it is a Marine thing. They are unfathomable.

We had one at Camp Fox kuwait in 03' as well as a few other places, and yes that was with the Marines :)

it varies from unit to unit, many marines have a different way of showing there feelings... as for the film, it is one of the most correct portrayal of marines i have seen in my life, and i am a military movie junkie. keep in mind, this is coming from a marine, been in for 7 years....

No, but there should be. You'd be surprised how many people are cheated on while they're over seas. It's pretty sad.

Our barracks had one, till a mortar took it out. Oh well, we're bound to have a new one by next deployment.
