Hi,
I would first check with your tour company and/or hotel to make sure that they don't offer free transportation to/from the airport to the hotel. Some of the Waikiki hotels do offer free airport transportation. Call the hotel to check and to arrange a pickup time.

If your hotel or tour company doesn't have a shuttle, I'd suggest a private shuttle such as Airport Waikiki Express ($9/adult, kids 3 and under free, two bags per person free). Shuttle vans operate 24 hours a day every day of the year between the airport and all 350 hotels and condos in Waikiki.

You could take a taxi, but it's more expensive - around $30. You could also take TheBus for $2, but it'll be crowded, take longer, and you'd have to be carrying considerably less luggage to use the bus. So - I'd suggest a shuttle.

Happy traveling!

You can take the city bus (on the second floor outside where people check in to board the planes), just $2 one way and you can get a free transfer good for a few hours. The bus will take you all the way to Waikiki. It would be bus #19 or #20. Those are the only buses that go to the airport, I think. I am not sure if #20 goes there but I am quite sure #19 goes there. You can also take the Roberts Hawaii shuttle just outside the arrival gates on the first floor where people arrive from the planes. It's around $8 per person one way and there is no luggage fee either. They have space for your luggage. The Roberts Hawaii shuttle comes every so often to the Airport to pick up passengers. It will take you all the way to Waikiki too...

Aloha Pink...you won't have a problem getting a taxi when you land in Honolulu. One thing though, if you booked through a Travel Company like Pleasant Holidays they have a Free Shuttle that runs between the Airport and the Waikiki Hotels, you should check with your Booking Agent.

Never mind that ... if you are really on a budget ... take the city bus, called, quite simply, The Bus.

The #19 runs once an hour from the airport terminals to Waikiki, Costs $2. Takes about 55 minutes.

they have a shuttle bus. it covers almost all the hotels in that area. i can't remember the exact cost....but i think it was a $16 roundtrip fee. so it came to 8 bucks. it was actually pretty simple. they gave you a ticket stub and the day before you need to be picked up to take you back to the airport they would inform you of what time to be in front of your hotel for pick up the next day. one less thing to worry about while partying in Hawaii
