What are your spiritual High/Lows?

Question

My family goes around the table each evening at dinner to share their "High/Lows" -- the best and worst parts of their day.

While we are sitting at the R&S table, what are your religious or spiritual high/lows? What's been the best part of your spiritual journey and what has been the worst? ( Could be for the day, the week, the month, whatever... )

Haha, how weird Chicky. We do that too. I wonder how many atheist families do this?

Worst part of my journey in my life was 2nd year bible college. I had everything invested in my faith and it was crumbling around me. I couldn't *think* my way out of it so I tried to *believe* my way out of it. Lock myself in a closet for 45 minutes a night to pray, will myself to have faith. Meanwhile, when I went to teachers of the college for help, they said I must have "sin" in my life and I should look harder. I knew my family would hate me for this too. Not believing wasn't an option. I felt more "alone in the universe" than I knew a person could.

A high was probably the birth of my first child. Just to experience that "another being coming into the world" was very humbling/powerful and so much more joy than I knew I could feel (also, pain! But...joy too!)

As a clinical depressive I don't have highs but I try my best to learn and grow spiritually from the lows.

Too many highs and lows to answer. But for the most part, my highs come when I actually seek God and follow His path for my life. My lows come when I follow my own path.
