Try to do 4 to 6 reps each set. If you can do 6 reps, increase the weight. If you can't do 4 reps, you have too much weight. Each workout, try to do at least one more rep, and 2 if possible. Once you can do 6 reps, add 5 lbs, then try to get at 4 reps, more if possible.

If you get to a point again where this is happening, then take a break and find a different exercise to work your quads for a while.

Have you tried reducing the reps and increasing the weight? Are you maxing out every time your workout? That is not a good thing.

you have to add the smallest slightest amount after 2 weeks...even if you cant do but a few of them...you will see the amount you can do go up.
