Why not go to an Ag show and find out for yourself? Also, check out the State fair if you live in the US and go to 4-H shows and fairs.

a real farmer his job is bloody hard work early am and late pm especially lambing season but the gentleman farmer I would say its all a lay back. Why don't you approach a farmer and ask if you can spend a week on the farm that's at an interesting dry season not right now you would not like it all believe me

They are VERY BUSY people. They get up between 3:00am and 5:00am every morning, no morning's to sleep in, and then have chores throughout the day feeding and caring for all the livestock, etc.
They buy and trade animals and food products from the animals.
It's a very very busy life, and they usually have millions of dollars worth in livestock and other animals and farm equipment, but have almost no money in the bank. They make all their money on people buying their products and on trading or selling animals.

Farmers? They fall in love, have kids, the kids grow up and went to school. After college the kids go to New York to work and don't recall where they came from.
