Because accepting pleasure means that you don't need a preacher to connect you with god, you can do it directly.
If they can't control you, then they have no power.
Therefore, they say pleasure is a bad thing.

Pleasure, in of itself, is not sinful.
God originally created all things, including all pleasures, and He meant for people to enjoy pleasures (that's why He gave them to us).
If you read the book of Genesis, you find that God created man and woman and placed them in the garden of Eden, which was paradise. It was complete and perfet pleasure. The problem began when sin entered the world. When sin enters the picture, it preverts original pleasures. In other words it changes the origianal pleasure and turns it into something sinful and bad. The result is the thing (which ws good) becomes less pleasureable, and it leads to guilt and consequences. This has been going on since Adam and Eve sinned, and now it is to the point that many people can't even tell the difference between sin and pleasure. But there is a difference. Sin is sin and pleasure is pleasure. There is a false pleasure that comes with sin, but there is also still a good, pleasure that is not sin. The later is also more pleasurable than the former.
So how does one know the difference? Well to know the difference requires knowing God. A person who does not know God doesn't really see the difference. But when a person does know God, God shows them the difference and it is awesome!!!
King Solomon went through this revelation and wrote about it in the book of Ecclesiastes and his other books (Proverbs, Song of Songs aka Song of Solomon.) though it might require some "digging" to get it.
If you really want the answer, the best thing to do is to ask God and be open to hear from Him. He can and will show you pleasure you would not believe that is not sinful or bad at all.

As a Christian, I would say that you are wrong firstly in the premise of your question. Orthodox Christians do not say that pleasures are sinful, rather we define sin as a separation from God, which has existed in the human race since Adam and Eve. We enjoy many pleasures, Sex, Alcohol, Cigars, we just have a different context about them. Sex is good, but most beneficial in marriage, Alcohol is good, but becoming drunk is stupid etc.
There are two things that perhaps you are refering too. Firstly a sect of Christianity has become very "pietistic" or law-based believeing that there is a certain list of things one must do to attain salvation. However this is not a scriptural idea, and in fact Christ has done everything necessary to attain salvation for man by his death and ressurection. Secondly, I believe that you have a misunderstanding of the orthodox view of what sin is. Sin is not an action done by man, though actions do flow out of sin, instead sin is a state in which man exists. Does that make sense? Therefore sin is not experiencing pleasure. Sin is also (as some of the other answers incorrectly say) misusing pleasure. Sin is the state of being out of relationship with God, and unable to come into relationship by ones self.

Christians believe that pleasures are sinful?
So are you implying that the people who live their lives doing yoga and being vegans and vegetarians are Christians? Most Christians eat meat and yoga is not a form of exercise that's extremely popular with Christians.
As for other "pleasures", Christians believe that pleasure is from God. What you don't understand is that Christians believe that God's instructions are the real basis behind pleasure. When Christians don't have sex outside of marriage, or refrain from smoking, or from swearing, or any other activities, they are doing so because they believe that it is more pleasurable to live that way.
Think about a non-Christian person who wants to "clean up" his or her life. Typically, he or she will stop smoking, drinking, overeating, sleeping around, and will seek to improve him/herself through education and learning. Why would someone want to "clean up" his or her life? To have a more PLEASURABLE life.
So the problem with your question is that you seem to define "pleasure" one way, whereas Christians (and others) would define "pleasure" differently.
In a sense, Christians believe that sin and sinful actions are not at all pleasurable.

Christians do not believe that pleasure is sinful....Where did you get such a ridiculous idea. Are you speaking specifically about the pleasure of sex? Hey, Christians love sex, we think it's great, best thing since sliced bread. Of course, we also know that fornication, adultery, and homosexual activity has led to a world of pain, social ills, and problems within our society. And, we also know that there is no better sex than that experienced by a married couple......try it, you'll like it.

I'm Christian and I certainly don't believe that pleasures are sinful. Physical intimacy in a committed relationship is a beautiful thing.

Pleasures are not sinful. They are gifts of God. Only the perversion of pleasure is sinful. Such perversion can take the form of making pleasure your god, or seeking pleasure in illicit forms or circumstances forbidden by God.

Christians do not believe that pleasure is sinful; however, we do believe that sex outside of marriage is sinful. Pleasure can be turned from the good thing that God made for us and made into something sullied and bad for us.
