Yes you can eat tuna straight from the tin, but drain the liquid it's in out first! You only need to boil pasta for about 5 minutes - fish a bit out with a fork and test it to see if it's ready.

Have a look through your mum's recipe books for some stuff to cook - if you follow the recipe exactly you really can't go wrong. Good luck!

Lol!
Tuna: Open over the sink, press the lid of the tin down onto the tuna to squeeze out/drain off the brine (or whatever its in) so you're just left with the tuna. If you can't eat all the tuna in the tin, then transfer it into a covered plastic container + store in fridge (don't leave in the tin).
Pasta: Depends on the pasta. Check the packet for cooking instructions. If fresh pasta, (ie. stored in the fridge) then usually only takes a minute, if other pasta (the dried stuff in cupboards) then probably about 12mins - add to boiling water in your saucepan, then turn heat down a bit and cook for about 12mins or until it is fairly soft (test it with your fork/by sampling it). Watch out incase it boils over cos then you'd have extra cleaning to do.
Have fun!

The best way to cook pasta is to pour it into boiling water. After about 10mins test to see if it is soft. Cook until it is nice and soft between the teeth. Id you like it a bit firmer it is called "al dente". Remebre to put a teaspoon of salt in the water and stir occasionally. When you drain the pasta pour some olive oil over it and stir gently (it stops it sticking together)

With the tuna. Mix it with some chopped tinned tomatoe and a little cream. and mix in with the pasta.

If you are feeling brave then. use a cheese grater and grate cheese and bread in equal amounts. Do enough to cover about half an inch of the top of the pasta. Then put it in the oven till all the cheese is melting and just going golden. Make sure you do this in a ovenproof dish or it will crack.

It is my Favourite and called Tuna Bake.
Enjoy

Remeber to clean the dishes before you parents get back.

Yes, you do eat tuna straight from the tin. Usually pasta has cooking times on the packet but as a guide, cover pasta with plenty of water, bring to the boil and simmer for around 10 minutes, then use a fork to see if it's done enough for you.If not then cook for further 5 or so minutes till it's as you like it.

Good luck and enjoy!

You can eat it from the tin over a salad and put dressing on it. Or you can mix the tuna with 1/2 cup mayo and chop up some celery and onions and mix it together and put it on toast or bread.

For the pasta, bring water to a fast boil, put in the pasta, return to boil and cook pasta for 8 - 10 min. if it's a big noodle or 5-8 min. if it's spaghetti-it should say on the box.

The pasta should have instrustions on the back of the packet. Its normally about 7-8 mins, but keep stabbing a piece with a fork while its cooking and test it, its the best way. Pasta shouls be al dente which mean it should n't be soggy but have some bite to it. I also find putting a teaspoon of olive oil and a pinch of salt helps with the cooking. Good luck!

Tinned tuna comes in either brine (salted water) or oil.

Drain the liquid and you can eat it as is.

You can make tuna pasta by boiling pasta until it is just soft.

If you can make a white sauce, then do it. Add the tuna and white sauce to the pasta and serve hot.

Yum Yum.

you can eat tuna out of the tin if you want, theres no rules! put it on bread with some mayonnaise, simple and yummy!
handy tip for cooking pasta: add a pinch of salt to the water so the pasta wont stick together in the pot. also, after a few minutes, take one of the pasta pieces and throw it against the wall. if it sticks, the pasta is ready!
