I have been drinking the 5.5 fl. oz Low Sodium V8 (It says 80 mg in the nutrition facts on the can) daily. Is this amount of sodium ok? I know a lot of people say that V8 has a lot of sodium, but is 80 mg ok to drink daily? I have no clue. I have actually come accustomed to the taste and like it. Oh and is it beneficial for me to drink this everyday?

I am a pretty healthy person that is just trying to lose a lil weight and get my recommended doses of vegetables. I tend to forget that I need to eat more vegetables and I thought drinking the V8 would help me a bit. Thanks for all your advice.

daily recommended sodium intake is between1500mg-2400mg, less if you have high blood pressure or kidney disease. Watch the sodium levels on ALL your foods! An 80mg beverage once or twice a day is fine, and you are getting alot of good vitamins and minerals from that can!

I am on LA Weight Loss and they actually recommend drinking the Low Sodium V8 whenever I can't get my veggies in normally or when I feel too full to eat veggies. They have dieticians and doctors that work with you so I don't think they would recommend something that wasn't good for you. You need some salt in your diet.

If you want V8 without the Sodium, it's great. Personally, I find myself adding salt to the low sodium variety of it!

I will admit that I don't keep up with the amount of vitamins a child...or even I should get daily. My only suggestion is if you are concerned about it, perhaps you can dilute his V8 a little. He will think he is getting 2 glasses when he may only be getting 1. I still dilute both of my kids juices...they love it just the same.

It really depends on how much sodium you are taking in from other sources. But that should be fine

it depends on your other sources of sodium(salt).
80mg is safe as long as your not overdoing salt everywhere else. If you ask your doctor, he/she will be more acquinted with your physcal makeup and can advise you on what would be an appropriate amount of sodium(salt) for you.

You know I get tired of all of these people keep on saying this is good and that is so bad well screw them you do what Makes you feel okay and do what you think is right and you watch out you are putting into you body and that is good. Lower sodium is a much better of a way of living and doing some exercising a good thing and staying healthy is what keeps the doctor away.
