I have a 2004 GT with 40 series flowmasters and it sounds awesome. I only swapped mufflers which cost $60 each and another $75 for welding install. I also bought a bassani catted x-pipe which made it MUCH louder. My neighbor has a magnaflow exhaust with x-pipe which is a little louder than my setup, so go with magnaflow if all you want is for it to be loud. However, flowmasters give it the deep rumble note and magnaflows are on the verge of making the car sound like a rice rocket.
This website has a bunch of sound clips with different exhaust setups that you can listen to:

Flowmaster 50 series would make it have a deep rumble to it and would not be so noisy inside the car, also 40 series would give it a more aggresive tone that is louder than 50 series, they run about 70-90 dollars a muffler, dont go with glasspacks on an 04 mustang, in the long run flowmasters are better.

well actually there called flow masters,,but that's close enough, and they are good exhaust systems to have, and they do make the mustangs sound really good too,i have used them for a while now,,i own a repair shop and i use them a lot on some of my cars, and i really like the way the sound, and the sound last good to,,the cheaper exhaust systems do not last as good as the flow master do ,,there not that expensive though a few hundred bucks for a complete system ,that's not bad at all,but that's what i would recommend for any mustang, then it will sound mean,,good luck,i hope this help,s.
