If you can find research to support your answer that would be greatly appreciated, especailly if you can post it by November 29 or 30. This is for a class I am taking. Thank you for taking the time to do this.

here in michigan you can take drivers ed at 14years and 9 months and get your permit then after 6 months you can take segment two which is only 3 days long and if you pass you can have your graduated driver license to drive by yourself at 15 years and 6 months.

I'm not going to do the research for you, but here are some simple answers to get you started. The only reason the driving age is 16 in America is so that the armed forces could have more drivers during the great wars; most other countries won't let you drive until you're 18. Another reason is that teenagers are statistically shown to cause more accidents than adults, so lowering the age limit even more would be hazardous.

Minimum driving age should not be lowered. I remember driving at 16. We are way too immature to handle something that can kill many. Read this article:

dont lower it .. provide better teen driver training.. more time behind the wheel, graduated license program.
