It seems like a good development but even though the round doesn't penetrate the armour, it will still cause massive trauma as the material flexes with the force of the shot.
It's interesting all the same.

It might turn out to be something useful. But I expect there to be problems with weight, heat and loss of agility.

These are all big problems. Every ounce of body armor equals an ounce of something the soldier has to leave behind. And the more surface area you cover with armor - the harder it is to prevent heat injuries. And full coverage armor restricts a soldiers ability to move.

You know they come out with new stuff constantly and I see some potential in this new product but still think there's room for improvement. Like m1a1 said it probably interferes with your agility and causes more heat throughout the body.

Looks very interesting but it will be 20 years down the line before it is perfected for everday military use.

I heard about this a few years ago, but like any protection available at the moment it is vunerable. Even stab vests that we wear at the moment aren't that safe.

Very cool...can we apply this stuff ourselves or will it be manufactured for us? Either way, I see potential.

what about if you hit on the head or in your face do you think that covers up?

If they test it in all aspects then I would use it.
