Hi Shawn
I see no reason why women should not be allowed to play on the PGA tour, all they need to do is qualify just the same as the men do.
I dont think any woman should get a sponsers exemption but should have to adhere to all the same rules as the men and that includes useing the mens tee boxes.
I must admit that I did enjoy seeing Annika play on the mens tour but she had her own reasons for doing that. Annika also knows that she cannot compete with the men because of their power, on the other hand Wie believes she can hit the ball as far as any of the men so she feels she has a chance (wrong). Maybe in 10 years she can but by then she wont be able to hit those 300 yarders.
Any way, as long as they conform to all the rules and regs as the men do I see no problem.

Only if they qualify. I have no problem letting the best players play. However, when it is a circus stunt to sell tickets, or the players cannot compete, that is an embarrassment to the game. All the people out there are trying to win, they qualified through many stages and deserve to be where they are. To simply get a sponsers exemption because you are the flavor of the week is bogus. Make the women earn it, just like the men have. So far the women haven't. Not one of the girls who have played in an event in the last 5 years made the cut.
Only Susie Whelan actually qualified through a legitimate stage. I thought that was great. The only problem, she played from the ladies' tees in the qualifier, while everyone else in the qualifier played from the mens'. That was not right.. But hey she followed the rules and did it, unlike others. She still however did not make the cut. In my mind, Michelle Wie is pathetic. Good golfer but what she is doing is pathetic. She has not only missed every PGA Tour cut, but she is so far off the lead. Does she really think she can win it?

If they continue to allow this, the LPGA might as well just shut down and put all men and women together. What I don't understand is that Michelle Wie doesn't even win playing against women, so what is her fascination with playing with the men. I think it just creates an awkward situation for men. They should not have to worry about a woman beating them on television. The only way I would like to see a woman on the PGA tour is if she is completely dominating the women's tour. That has not yet happened.

No, the PGA tour is for men. If they want to play in the PGA tour maybe they could get a special pass where they can't make any money and don't keep a man from making the cut. PS--I like watching the LPGA and there are some great women golfers, but they need to stay in the LPGA.

Well I don't know... If women play on the PGA, good for them. But on the other hand why shouldn't men play on the LPGA if that's the case?
Wie and Sorenstam are there for the gate, not for the competition. I'd like to see Michelle Wie stick with the LPGA but you know she's getting a ton of appearance money for her appearances on the odd PGA event.
Now the British Open has said if a woman can qualify, they can play. That sounds like a fine idea.

If the rules don't exclude them. Probably the hardest test of golf against other professional players in the world for money and fame. If a woman needs to prove herself against the toughest sanctioned competition in golf men or women,I would think the PGA tour is the place play.

I don't see a reason why a woman shouldn't be allowed to play on the PGA tour. As long as they meet all the requirements that the men must meet to qualify. I also think woman should be allowed to bowl against men. The only reason to keep men and woman seperate is to cover for the men who couldn't handle losing to a woman.

i think of ladies are allowed to play in the event that they qualify for a given tournament. yet interior the previous the PGA has made errors by using giving Michelle Wie and different women particular invites only because of the fact she is sixteen or they are able to hit the ball a mile would not recommend they might desire to be invited to play with adult males because of the fact is removing a gap of a harworking indivual attempting to make a living.

I think they are largely doing a disservice to themselves by trying PGA events. So far, at best, they are back in the pack and not really contenders. Males just have too much of a physical advantage. That may not be politically correct but it is reality.

definately not because i've seen plenty of women choke during female tournaments when the crowd is a fourth of a pga tournament. and the fact that tiger woods is in the same field as you puts loads of pressure on you so i think that since there is a LPGA for Ladies they should stay on the LPGA for ladies and stop trying to prove themselves on the PGA tour for men
