I had a neighbor when I was in college who had end-stage AIDS. I didn't know him very well, but I used to go over to his house everyday to help with chores and make dinner for him. I knew him for about a year before he died. Going into that house everyday was the hardest thing I've ever made myself do. I'm not good with sick people or strangers. I've always been proud of myself for sticking it out.

They put him on my chest and he was crying and I said "heyyyy, why are you crying" and he immediately stopped and looked up at me....*tears up* without comparison, the best thing ever!!
