If your sore throat is cold related rub Vick's Vapor Rub on your throat before you go to bed. Keep it covered. If one night doesn't do the trick, do it again the next night. If it persists for more than 3 nights, see a doctor. Also, if you get a chest cold, nothing is better to use that Vick's.

when i was younger, my mother used to give me a mug of vey hot, not boiling, water, with honey and cloves in it for a sore throat. its one of those 'mothers home remedies' recepies! i'll be honest, it doesnt taste very good but it worked for me!
Please dont burn yourself, the water has to be hot!

If it is strep., you need an antibiotic. If it is viral, you can use soothing remedies including those mentioned earlier. You can also take chicken soup or green tea.
