It's not something I have ever tried, as it doesn't sound appealing to me. It seems like it would be hard to cook, as the cooking time and optimal internal temp. for each type of bird are different. Also, unless you buy one already made, it would indeed be a pain in the a** to make. Deboning one bird isn't fun, let alone 3. I'd stick to a good turkey and a ham.

I want to try this myself but after doing research recently decided that if I did this I would have professional butcher do the deboning and stuffing otherwise it is a lot of work and how many people know how to debone a bird anyway much less deboning three birds.

Turducken is a duck that is stuffed into a chicken that is all stuffed into a turkey. My friends gourmet chef husband made it for Christmas last year. I DID NOT like it. the duck is too gamey for me and I dont really like turkey. Chicken has to be white meat...so for me I was not pleased. The others enjoyed it...but then again most people have tastier pallets than I do!

The turkucken developed from human beings wanting to serve Turkey, Duck and rooster all 3 at holiday feasts. As human beings / human beings created the turducken, this makes human beings god until it developed as defined in my first sentence.

My wife and I ordered one for Thanksgiving several years ago as it sounded fascinating. We cooked it as per directions and it was HORRIBLE! It was dry, had no detectable taste and inedible. We threw it out and ate the remainder of the dinner. We felt so cheated we bought a turkey the next day to cook Saturday. Our experience was NOT good but in relating that to others they tell me they had tried it and liked it. If you decide to try, good luck!

We had one at a relative's house a couple of years ago. It was fine but I don't think it was worth all the effort. I'd rather have a turkey, chicken and duck by themselves.

I haven't actually tasted it myself but I have heard that its really good. Its seems like it would be easier to buy it b/c the preparation of deboning seems pretty extensive.

This is one of those things that I would order out first. Have a professional that knows what they are doing make it. If you like it, then maybe try to make it. It's just far too much work (and can be expensive) to make on your own without knowing if you'll even like the flavors.

Well I have never tried it but Paula Deen has cooked this on one of her cooking shows. You can go on the foodnetwork website and see how to make it.
