BANANAS. They only last two weeks after being picked while green. On long ship voyages, special gases are pumped into the cargo hold to retard ripening. Mmmmm delicious.

In the superstore, fruits are usually selected far too soon. Some are rocks, many are bitter. Some of the fresh vegetables are generally right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.
