I have a 4 yr old who is showing symptoms of some sort of illness. He's running a fever of 100-102 degrees, his forehead is flushed, mottled, and tender to the touch. Today it is slightly puffy, almost swollen looking. He's very lethargic at times. I don't see any sign of an insect bite, etc. The doctors have no clue and will do nothing. What is it?

it sounds like a cellulittis and you may not be able to see a bite on his scalp unless you shave his head
in either case you need to find the cause
and treat it immediately with antibiotics
no doctor is going to leave a child with a fever
go to the ER

Find a Homeopathic Dr. who has practiced 20-30 years.

Won't do anything? Sounds to me like he has the flu. As long as he's not dehydrated, give him some children's Tylenol, make sure he drinks plenty of fluids and put him to bed.

If his fever worsens or he can't keep anything down, then take him to the ER.

Take him to a hospital. You don't want to get medical advice regarding your son's health on yahoo answers.

If your child is lethargic that cannot be a good sign....take him to the ER.

I would give him a Benedryl. If its an allergic reaction the swelling will reduce, this will make him sleepy though.

Have you had him checked for a sinus infection? It could be possibly a form of that.

Don't know. Take him to another doctor, or better yet, to the hospital.

Must be cellulitis. If so, he needs an antibiotic. Take him to his pediatrician.
