Professional athletes?particularly women?can be prone to eating disorders. Now, an Italian study, published in Psychopathology, suggests that almost one in five regular gym-goers may be on the road to anorexia, bulimia or an associated ?borderline? condition researchers are increasingly referring to as anorexia athletica. None of this comes as a surprise to the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA)?a major trade organization for the fitness industry in the U.S

Sounds like me, I love to eat too. Sounds like most of your choices are healthy you just need portion control(a big problem for me too). But I'm not sure how much exercise is needed for you. My metabolism is pretty high so I don't have to do much, I do between 30 minutes and an hour 2 or 3 times a week. I figure, as long as your being a little active you won't get really big. If your metabolism is slow you might have to work out for an hour 3 to 4 times a week until you are at a comfortable weight, then when you see the progress you've made it might motivate you to eat more sensibly. Try cardio or aerobics. If you keep your hands busy it will be harder to stuff your face, although I always find a way to stuff mine! Good luck! Hope we both can stop over eating soon!

I am not advocating a no-carb diet, but if you'll concentrate more on protein you will not have as big an appetite. Whenever I eat too many carbs (like those muffins you talk about and the toast)I start eating more. I'm very sensitive to carbs and you may be, too. When you do eat carbs, make sure they're good ones...the ones with lots of fiber, not refined carbs. I think that will make a big difference for you.

As far as exercise goes, if you'll start a walking program and do it every day it will help tremendously. Walk for at least an hour a day. It's good for your heart and your metabolism.

Haha, first off you are not a big, fat pig. Before you eat a meal, drink a big glass of water, then you are not as hungry. Then, when you are eating a meal, set your meal up and sit down when you eat. DO NOT eat out of containers or boxes, because you do not know the portion of food you are eating, and it could end up being a very big amount! Also, eventhough all of the foods you are eating are very healthy, you are eating too much of them. Although it is key to eat healthy, it defeats the purpose of eating healthy when you eat so much. Try eating smaller portions, and if you want more of a variety, then eat small portions of different things, which will make for a much more interesting and nutritionally balanced breakfast! Good luck!

You need to restrict your eating. I just had breakfast and it was so good I was thinking of repeating it but then I think about it and say no because it will depress me. When you eat, eat slowly and take a lot of small bites and chew it twice as long as you normally would. You will be satisfied faster this way. You might need professional help here or a support group. I'll bet your body image is all wrong. You are probably not fat.

Hi there!

First off, I would suggest you not be so hard on yourself. Negative self talk doesn't help you reach your goals, it just hinders.

Now to answer your question, it soulds like you are consuming too many calories. If you keep eating like this you are going to have to work out a lot just to prevent yourself from gaining weight.

The key for your losing weight will be to graudually restrict your calories to about 1500 per day and continue to stay active. If adhere to this, you should see results soon.

I believe this answers your question, but if not you may email me: trainer_gregg@yahoo.com.

Good luck with your diet and fitness goals!
