Yes, I would definately recomend it. I wouldn't suggest drinking it strait *which can be done* your first time though. Ad sugar by placing it on the apporopriate spoon *there are spoons made specifically for this* and pouring ice cold water over the sugar into the absinthe glass. Fill i about 2/3 of the way to the rim of the glass ((this is AFTER you poured the absinthe in the glass or else that's just gross in my book)) This adds flavor and just makes it more enjoyable. <3

Yep a number of different top brands. There is no such thing as "full strength" absinthe, and any place advertising such should be avoided. Either it is absinthe or it isn't. Absente which is available in the US is not absinthe but pastis, the majority of absinth available in the czech republic (or made in the czech republic) isn't absinthe but a type of bitters. Absinthe is an anise flavored beverage made from green anise and wormwood, plus additional herbs. If it lacks either of those it isn't absinthe. Any after effects are minor and not experienced by everyone, don't fall into the myths, it wont make you hallucinate or anything like that. For those that experience "secondaries" it is often described as a clear headed drunk. I have found normal alcohol feels very heavy after drinking absinthe.

I would recommend trying it if you can. Unfortunately there is way to many myths and dis-information about absinthe. I have had it hundreds of times. allot of people that do not like licorice will not like absinthe. Just be careful, but remember the only thing dangerous about it is the incredible high ABV always 50% and up. I have done some pretty stupid things after having way to much, but not nearly as bad as some of the things some of my friends have done. So drink in modest amounts, no more than 3 servings unless you are a pro and can handle being messed up out of your mind

I have tried it - its ok as long as you don't drink the whole bottle, we have had it in Czech Republic (70%), Holland and the UK and have not experienced any hallucinations.
Put sugar on a t spoon and dip it in the absinthe, heat it up with a lighter, then when it has dissolved a bit set it on fire and stir it into the absinthe and drink quickly. obviously you only do this to a little at a time!
enjoy!

It is banned, and for good reason, it is an hallucinogenic and can cause death.
It is banned in nearly every country in the world, I know of none where you could get it.
So no, I would NOT recommend it.

I would only recommend it if you are in the company of someone who is familiar with it (and is still functioning normally). Otherwise I would avoid it.
