it seems I have actually had them since July, 5 days after I went to a movie theatre. I treated them back then and just thought I had excema and that the chemicals ruined my scalp, but lo & behold they are actually back.

I feel your pain! My daughter had them and thought we would never get rid of them! I would wash any sheets you have used since July. Towels, sheets, even pillows. Get the kit that has furniture spray and use it everywhere! They can be on your couches, any stuffed animals, your mattress - even spray the carpet. Use the Rid stuff on your head then a day or 2 later you can use white vinegar (that burned my daughters head) or you can use mayonaise. Whatever you use, put it on, then tie a plastic bag over your head (not your face of course) and let that stay @5 minutes then comb it out. I did her hair every other day for a week and a half (w/ mayo after the 1st treatment) Everyday after you shower dirty up your hair - mousse, hairspray, gel - that will help keep them away-they love CLEAN hair. I would do that for a few weeks. Oh yeah Don't forget to spray your car seats too - Those things can be anywhere!! Good luck you poor thing!! OMG I'm itching just thinking about it!

You only have to wash it once in really hot water. However - the eggs will hatch out over a two week period so if you have something that can not be washed - like couch cushions - feather pillows etc. bag it up and store it for 2 weeks. I know that the instructions on RID - which is the best treatment - says to wet the hair before applying - BS - use as many boxes as you need to saturate the hair with the product. You may also have been reinfected by something other than the theater seat - like a friends car seat. RID was recommended because the little buggers have developed a resistance to other brands. Good luck!

You need to go on a mission to rid your life of the little critters. Wash all of your bedding, spray and flip your mattresses with RID spray or something similar that kills lice and their eggs. You can find this at Wal-Mart. Your furniture also needs to be treated in the same manner. If you have carpeting, you need to spray it and let the poison sit for a couple of hours and run the vaccum cleaner really well. Make sure you have a clean bag in the cleaner and dispose of it after you have vaccumed. It's not a bad idea to run the hose of the cleaner over your matress and furniture too. If you have any dirty laundry laying around, get it all washed up. Replace all of your hairbrushes if you can afford to. If you cant, a trip through the washer in hot water with bleach should do it. I know that this sounds very extreme, but headlice are very difficult to get rid of, and easy to pass along. All it takes is a couple of eggs that get by your scouring and cleaning, and you are right back where you started. Also, don't forget to treat your own head, and those of your family members with RID. Make sure you use the fine toothed comb to comb out eggs. Keep a regular check at the base of necks and around ears for about a week to ten day to be sure that your unwanted visitors have vacated the premisis. Good Luck and Best Wishes!!!

you will could get a shampoo and take care of your head. The flea isn't something to agonize approximately. The lice would be killed by the shampoo. additionally, wash your bedding in warm water and positioned your pillow in the dryer. Get a clean brush and trash your old one. The lice being killed does not rely. They lay go away nits on your hair shaft and that should be dealt with. The shampoo will do the trick.

Washing things is not enough. Try washing everything washable pillows everything in Lysol concentrate (comes in a small dark brown bottle, sold with the detergents). Everything washable in your house should be washed, get rid of brushes (buy new), wash hats, coats, anything you have come in contact with since the first infestation. Things that can not be washed (couch cushions, etc..) should be left in the warm sun.
You can get all the information you need from you local health department.

You need to wash your bedding in very hot water and dry it in a very hot dryer too. You also need to get lice treatment for your scalp. Anywhere your head goes, so do they. Do you wear hats? Put your head against your lazy boy? Lean your head back on your car head rest?

You need to wash all of your bedding in hot water with some bleach (not too much if you don't want to bleach out your sheets and comfortor, etc. Also, any type of clothes or jackets or bathrobes or whatever all needs to be washed really well in as warm of water as possible.
Also, get treatment for yourself again and spray the whole house with lots of Lysol or something.
Hope this helps

Wash ALL clothing and bed materials in HOT soapy water and dry on the hottest setting.
You can buy OTC bed sprays that kill the lice on your mattress and furniture

Wash everything, hot water, and dry them in your dryer on the hottest setting. You can put your pillows in the dryer, and your couch pillows also. They have a spray out now that you can spray your furniture and carpeting and stuff and your car, if your infested(I hate that word) that bad. Treat your brushes and combs. Make sure EVERY nit is combed out of your hair.
