Matthew 7:13-15
13"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

That's not what the passage infers. It could be a warning that it can much easier for people to do what is wrong, or it could be implying that since Jesus is the only way into Heaven the path would be considered narrow and the path to Hell wide because there are so many more ways to get there. As far as being narrow minded, isn't everyone narrow minded in some way? Unless you believe everything. I really don't see how that is possible. God bless.

the narrow gate is the gate that is passed by very small number of people (christians and also other religions). But if a person is baptised as a christian since he or she was a baby, it doesn't mean that is narrow minded. Look at the person as an individual, not to what religion has writen on the forehead.

I think you have completely missed the boat on understanding these verses. This has nothing to do with being narrow minded. Think about it - the road to destruction has an easy path - staying on track and following the word of God is a hard path to follow when you live in a world born to sin. Finding Christ, accepting Christ and living in the ways of Christ can be very difficult (esp. when you have people such as yourself throwing stones at Christians all the time).

You don't have to be narrow minded to enter through the narrow gate. That narrowness referred to in Matthew is a narrowness not of the mind, but of actions. In other words, it is specifically talking about a road that one walks, by their righteousness. "Keep on the straight and narrow" refers to righteous actions, not belief. You can and should keep an open mind.

The Bible verse refers to sin and how difficult it is to walk the walk. As far as narrow minded, I would have to know on what grounds that applies to. Christians believe in Christ. There is nothing narrow minded to that. Blessed are those who believe, yet have never seen. Good Luck!!!!

If narrow minded means focused and clear, the answer is yes, but if narrow means not seeing the true and big picture, the answer is no.

Would I be narrow minded to tell you that the sky is blue and the grass is green? The fact is that TRUE Christians KNOW Christ, and we want to share him, as that is our mission in this world. I think it is pretty narrow minded to dismiss your creator's existance simply because you do not want him to be real...

You are right. Christians are narrow minded. They operate under a simple concept. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. This differs from much of society with operate under the concept of do unto others before they can do unto you.
