Not looking for religious dogma, please do not bombard me with "my god forgives all"...no offense but I just want just examples of things that need to be forgiven.

How ironic that you ask this now. A friend and I were just having this discussion not an hour ago, and he pointed out to me that I have harbored the guilt of my friends' suicide and that of his mother for all these years, when saving their lives wasn't up to me. It was her job to try to save him, not mine. I was only 17. In failing to do that, she laid the blame on me and killed herself. I have carried that with me all these years and it's affected my life in unimaginable ways. No more. I didn't take their lives, they did. No one needs to forgive me for anything, I need to forgive myself. This is the first step.

I wish that I could forgive myself for all my past mistakes, for wasting the first 19 years of my life on drugs and friends who really were not my friends. I have no problem forgiving others as my God has commanded, and I know he forgives my sins, but forgiving myself is my biggest problem; something I just have to keep praying about.

I killed a cat when I was younger and it bothers my conscience-I accept that it was wrong and it was done out of stupidity rather than wickedness and I would like to be able to come to terms with it instead of being plagued with guilt.

I do not need to be forgiven for my actions. They are my actions and I learn from them.

my greed--wanting pretty clothes and wanting to spend money for vanity--when i know it is wrong. I feel i am self-absorped. I don't feel good about myself.
