Just from EXPERIENCE please. I've work at camp and at a live-in job at a castle hotel, so I know the deal about roommates and living on the job...but what about the particulars of cruise ships????

long, tiring, often thankless. expect to work anywhere from 12 to 20 hours a day without much downtime. multiply that by 7 days a week for up to 3 months straight. I usually sleep for two or three days straight when I get done. But if you play your cards right you can save some good money. It has it moments just like any job some days are better than others.

fairly close to hell, based on an extensive report I watched on tv: long hours, cramped quarters, you name it.
