Drink lots of water about 64oz/24hrs. Very light massage, called lymph massage, it helps with your immune system and basically helps anti-oxidants clean your system of any sludge or blockages in the circulatory system. Massage helps break things down to it is expelled from you system easier, and increases blood flow which carries nutrients to your skin and will help keep it healthier. Also, don't use moisturizers with petroleum, it clogs your poors. Your body has a natural defense against dry skin. If you cleanse with harsh soaps, or just to much you will wash away all natural moisturizers and your body reacts by rushing more oils (sebum) to the skins surface which will cause acne or very oily skin. Use natural moisturizing products. Safflower seed oil, almond oil, ect. There are many products it just depends on you own preferences. They can be a bit more expensive, depending on where you buy them from. Walmart carries a moisturizer in the ethnic hair section that is a good value, it smells great and all natural. I don't remember the name right off hand though. Read the labels

Already. Seems like your tried your share of ointments. Something I usually refer my clients to is 1.Wash the area with a gentle cleanser. Not body soap because that is too drying. Face soap would be great for that area. (Make sure the water isn't too hot either) 2. Apply a bit of mineral water to the area. Mineral water contains trace minerals what work really well to re-balance the skin. (This step is the hydrating step) 3. Then immediately apply a thin layer of olive oil. If you have coconut oil or grape seed oil, that would be better. (This step is the occlusive step, to keep the hydration in the skin cells) (If the skin is severely dry, you can wrap gauze around the shin when you are sleeping to help keep the moisture in the tissue.)

I don't know home remedies but the best lotion for extremely dry skin is Jergins for Extra Dry Skin. It has an orangish tint on the bottle. Best stuff ever, I would be lost without it.

Hello,

Easy natural option 1:
(Hopefully you have these two food items in your kitchen to save you money and time.) Mix cooked oatmeal and honey. Gently apply to your skin in upward circular motions. Let it stay on your skin for up to 10 minnutes and rinse off with warm water. Then wtih cool water. The bonus benefit is that this will also cleanse your skin.

Easy natural option 2:

If you have a banana, mash it and apply to your face and neck skin. Wait about 10 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water.

I'm not sure if your worst dry patches are on your face, hands, etc., but for hands, the dermatologist and doctor both said to use Crisco (yes, the baking kind). I have eczema on my hands, and that's helpful (but messy!).

For a "cleaner" approach, Aveeno Baby (for exczema - says it on the bottle) works well on hands and other dry patches, like feet, etc. Not oily, fragrance-free, and cheap!

Good luck!

Eczema patients can avoid scratchy fibers for softer ones like bamboo, cotton, or silk, which are gentler on the skin. Opting to buy organic fibers can also be a wise, healthy, and eco-friendly alternative. Learn here https://tr.im/6v1Ve
