The Holy Quran : Chapter: 2 (Al-Baqarah), Verse:137
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2:137] Say ye, 'We believe in God and what has been revealed to us, and what was revealed to Abraham and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob and his children, and what was given to Moses and Jesus, and what was given to all other Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them; and to Him we submit ourselves.'

The Holy Quran : Chapter: 2 (Al-Baqarah), Verse:214
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2:214] Mankind were one community, then they differed among themselves, so Allah raised Prophets as bearers of good tidings and as warners, and sent down with them the book containing the truth that He might judge between the people wherein they differed. But then they began to differ about the Book, and none differed about it except those to whom it was given, after clear Signs had come to them, out of envy towards one another. Now has Allah, by His command, guided the believers to the truth in regard to which they (the unbelievers) differed; and Allah guides whomsoever He pleases to the right path.

The Holy Quran : Chapter: 3 (Al-`Imran), Verse:138

[3:138] Surely, there have been many dispensations before you; so travel through the earth and see how evil was the end of those who treated the Prophets as liars.

First let me tell Argu.... Just because Jesus was born of a virgin doesn't mean he was the son of God. It's called a miracle. Every prophet has them.
Now to the question - the point the Quran is trying to make is that the Prophets were sent to the people as warners. Period. Allah is telling us that He sent such warners to the people so they would understand and the prophets are not Gods, but are divinely guided human beings.

He replaced right into a humble a depended on individual, He have been given married on the age of 25 to Khadija who replaced right into a 40 year previous widow. a while later The Angel Gabriel looked as though it may the Prophet on the Mount Hira the place the Prophet (PBUH) went to meditate each so often. in short, the Prophet (PBUH) stored coming to this mountain and the Angel revealed the Qur'an to him in factors so as that he would desire to undergo in suggestions it and recite it to companions who then wrote it down. To add to the comment of aali for argu. What is more miraculous? To create a man from earth with no father nor mother.(Adam-pbuh which is a direct translation in hebrew) or a man from the womb of a virgin? Which was used as a term to define a young female in those days. Not one who has not has her hymen touched. There is no distinction amongst the prophets because they were all equal. Though proofs and paths for all vary, what allah commanded them to be is prophets. And to assign none as partners to allah. Which is exactly what christians do. It is one thing to take a messenger as a friend, guide, leader, helper, etc. But to say that they had anything to do with creation on a whole is just blashpemy. As if they are capable of such things. We as mankind are only capable of either manifestation(right or wrong) or to frustrate the majesty of allah. It is one thing to be endowed with great knowledge and power. But there is a difference between being strong, potent, and omni-potent. PEACE!

I think this verse is just trying to reiterate their belief that Jesus was ONLY a prophet, and not the son of God. Of course, this doesn't make any sense when you consider that the Quran also says that Jesus WAS born of a virgin. If Jesus was born of a virgin, that means that there was no earthly father and therefore there must have been divine intervention, which would make him the son of...(you fill in the blank).

Because it always shows the truth to mankind. It never wants from us to deny other prophets before Prophet Muhammad(pbuh). If we are believers we have to believe what He sent to us till now. Denying them is being weakness and disobedience and we Muslims are not like this kind of people.
May God bless you

From what I understood from that verse is that the prophets are not important, the god is important.

Because, if there is allegedly only one god, then the rest of the names in the bible aren't all that important.

Because they are duped into believing that Jesus was just a mere prophet, and that Mohammad was a prophet.
