I am one of the few on here (apparently) that understands the difference between extremists and everyone else.
Unfortunately, most people on here don't understand the concept and generalize everyone (yet yell the loudest when they are generalized).
People soon forget once other people start committing these atrocities, that MANY WHITE AMERICANS are guilty of the same horrid acts....aka, Timothy McVey, Waco, Abortion clinic bombings....it may be on a slightly smaller scale, but IT IS THE SAME THING!!!

Dear Dana,
If you are not ready to read what others think of Islam, Muslims, and mostly Muhammad! don't ask the questions!
That is civilization. People will post their opinion, and not all of them must agree with you, or they are not civilized in your book.
As for Muhammad, may he rest in Peace. Is not a perfect person as you like to think, he was a man, who sinned and had a lot of blood on his hands. I don't mean to disrespect you, but that is what was written in history, and the Muslims these days would rather look the other way than face the reality of who he was and how he became to a position that was able to rule people, and in a second hand still does even after hundreds of years of his death. may he rest in peace.
It is true, many people do believe Bush, but many more don't believe him, and that is old news.
You know what is sad! is watching those Imams who call for the death of the American and the non believers, that is sad, and it is not because of Iraq, because it is not not new, and those Muslims have been calling for the death of the non believers long before the war, much longer than that. I am not generalizing all Muslims. There are many peaceful ones, sadly they don't speak much against those Muslims when they do become radicals.
I hope one day we all can have Peace with each others.

Well, ma'am, then don't you think that, if this is all true, your Imams shouldn't be indoctrinating young children with hatred in the mosques?
Don't you think that Islam should be denouncing the Terrorists who cause so much trouble and loss of lives?
Don't you think that they should mean "As-sala'amu aleikum" and not just mouth it, while they have hatred for the kaffir?
How then, do you explain the verses that urge you to kill every "infidel" you see? Please spare me the modern "Muslim" version that is that you really mean the infidel in your heart, not the physical man.
How do you explain the verses that say that it is right for a True Muslim to lie and deceive the infidel, when it serves the purpose of Islam?
How do you explain the verses that promise Heaven to those who die in the Jihad?
I'm sorry, ma'am; but you really need to do what all your people always tell us to do ..."Read Koran"!?

Mohammed's rules of good behavior only apply to how to treat other muslims..
for non-muslims, christians and jews you consider infidels, you are to kill us where ever you find us...
muslims admit they are behind the terrorism..so there is no argument here
Bush is not a liar.... his enemies are...the weapons of mass destruciton were secretly moved to syria before the iraq war, with the help of russia...so they WERE there.....and they still are. They have just been relocated....

have you read the verses about killing the infidels.
I don't think all muslims are terrorists, but the relgion has been hijacked by those who are. Groups like al quaed, hezzbollah and hamas. What do you think?
And you don't hear the moderate muslims rising up against the fanatics. However, people were dancing in the streets of muslims countries on 911. Don't you remember?

Well not Terrorism per say, but its hardly the religion of peace, as it claims to be. From the Great book its self.
Fighting is prescribed for you, and [some of] you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not (Sura 2:216).
Fight and slay the pagans wherever you find them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war (Sura 9:5).
Fight in the way of Allah . . . and slay them [the unbelievers] wherever you find them and drive them out . . . and fight them until . . . religion is for Allah (Sura 2:190-193).
It should be noted as you pointed out the Peace be unto you, and the Phrase of Christians are our friends were in the early chapters of the Quraan. The Quraan also expresses an intolerant attitude toward any person who decides to reject the Islamic faith or convert to another religion. Such persons are to be executed (Sura 9:12).
Initially, Muhammad expected both Jews and Christians to receive his new revelation. Thus, early passages in the Koran speak admiringly of the people of the Book. These are the passages that Muslims in the West love to quote in their effort to prove that Islam is a tolerant religion. An example is Sura 5:82 which says, You will find that those who are nearest in love to the believers [Muslims] are those who say, We are Christians.
But when Jews and Christians rejected Muhammad, he turned fiercely against them, and later passages in the Quraan speak of them disparagingly.
Sura 5:51 commands Muslims not to take Jews and Christians as friends.
Sura 9:29 commands Muslims to fight against Jews and Christians until they either submit to Allah or else agree to pay a special tax.
Sura 2:65-66 and Sura 5:60 contain references to Jews as apes and swine to be despised and rejected."
Its not really Terrorisim as much as it is Neo Facist in origin, even most protest to spring up in Europe have been towards countering European Rights, many people there would gladly do away with Freedom, in exchange for moral Greatness. So to them this isn't a bad thing, and as this is a good portion of there faith don't suspect this to roll over any time soon. And by Regional control, that largely means Southern Europe, all of North Africa, and the Mid East.

Muslim terrorists are using the Quraan as an excuse to kill.
I do not believe that any god advocates death and violence as a way to settle differences.
Religion (all religion) is inherently good, it is humankind that is bad and doing it in the name of religion.
I apologize if i have stepped on any toes, this was not my intentions.
My dearest wish, before i die, would be to see all religions "Kiss and make up"

Prejudice !!
When any member of a recognizable group does something good or bad the whole group is thought of as being like that one.
The US actions are not admired by most of the world because of the invasion of Iraq without good cause. The US has made the world less safe. Hitler had lots of good ideas, but just like the US; he rushed to war.
Is Islam linked to terrorism? Yes, and so is the US. There is a lot of bad in the best of us and a lot of good in the worst of us.â¥
A study by the University of Michigan has come to the conclusion that Islamic beliefs and devotion are not linked to support for terrorism among Palestinians.
This rather counter intuitive conclusion is reached despite the study's author — Jeremy Ginges, a researcher at the U-M Institute for Social Research — also finding that "at least 70 percent of more than 300 suicide attacks that occurred between 2000 and 2003 were carried out by religiously motivated organizations" and that "communal religious devotion, measured by the frequency of Mosque attendance, was a good predictor of support for suicide terrorism."
But... "despite the appearance of a link between religiosity and support for suicide terrorism, the nature of this connection has been unclear. My analysis shows that Islamic beliefs and devotion are not, in themselves, linked to support for such terrorism."â¦

Your 4 items sound nice and in most Islamic religious people that does apply. It is the extremist who are causing all the trouble.
It just so happens that they are mostly Muslim and of the Islamic faith. They kill, rape and destroy in the name of Allah and think that Allah justifies this. In reality they are bitter mostly uneducated people who were taught to hate from the day they were born.

You see, that is what you want to see in Islam, but there is more to it than simply what you have just mentioned. It depends on what Islam define terrorism to be. To one person it is defence, when to another is offence!! When some muslims carry out terrorism acts, they are doing their duty, what their prophet told them to do. To fighty for the cause of Allaha and his Prophet, but to the person on the other end, it is terrorism.
let take one point at a time of why you think it is not.
Let me start with, I don't like a person who calls on his people to attack their others homes, and collect their booty, and the women become his slaves. That is your prophet.
1. Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) ordered muslims when at war, not to cut a tree, or kill a child, a woman, or an old man.
( ask why if he ever did that. why!!)
Cut a tree! He lived in a desert, where trees where so few, that was only a wise not to kill them when they are so limited.
The women and children were taken as salves, and some of them were used as bargaining tools to get back his own men. they were used. The old men, they were not a threat to go after his men, or him. so what was the point of killing someone who was not a threat to them. Althoug I read a story where Muhammad men killed a man just for mocking him. read it in the quran.
one of Muhammad's wives was taken after he attack her tribe, killed her husband, father and brother, and at the same night he took her to his tenet and had his way with her. read it in the quran.
2. Quraan mentioned that if a man killed another one, it`s equal sin to killing all people. In another verse, the one who kills another one without a good reason, he will be in hell forever.
and yet he ordered the killing of many people, and those who killed for him, were pardon and promised to be in paradise when they die. A man killed his wife and his unborn child just because she didn't like Muhammad and spoke negatively against him. Another woman got killed for accusing him of stealing her fathers poems, writing and claim they were revelation came to him. and many more.
3. Muslims say hello to each other by saying "Assalam Aliekum". That means "Peace be upon you"
Yes they do, and in the time of Muhammad when he rose in power, Muslim said that to each others and those who were non muslims were forbidden to speak to the muslims unless they were spoken to. That is not so friendly now is it!!
4. Many verses in Quraan ask Muslims to forgive those who do them wrong, and even to be good to their enemies, because in that way their enemies will be like friends.
During Muhammd time he made more enemies than friends. He made himself from nothing, and became the most powerful person in his time, in his area. He attacked and killed many jewish and Christian people. Ever wondered why there are no Jews or Chrisitan in Saudi, when in fact they were the marjority, and no it is not becasue they converted, it is becasue he become powerful, and attacked many tribes and killed many more.
You asked the question, and that was my answer. I don't understand how muslims think he was a perfect person when he caused so much pain to others. He owned slaves and the people around him did everything he said. I wish you didn't bring him up with your question about terrorism, because I believe there are many good honest hard working peaceful muslims, but he was not. He did to many wrongs, and probably didn some rights as well, but the wrongs over shadawo the rights.
Islam is a person should die so they can live, and if they happen to kill some with them, doesn't matter to some people. In Iraq every single day I see muslims killing muslims, and I see those women screaming crying hitting themselves with grief over the killing of their family memeber, sunni agianst shia and visa versa. Just sad. I don't hate muslims, I feel sorry for them.
all terrorist are not muslims, but the majority of them these days are muslims, sorry, but that is fact. May God help us all, and them too.

Then explain the attacks on the Mosque in Iraq last week. Did God say it was cool to damage a holy building! It's not a tree, of course.
Do you know how easy it would be to end that violence. If ALL Muslim spiritual Leaders got on Arab TV and said BOTH SIDES are wrong and any of them doing violece to one another are not in Allah's favor and he will turn their back on all of them.
That would end it, if they were true Muslims.
That would end it, unless they DEFY Allah, right!
