A CT of the head is a very simple procedure. From your question I figure they are doing the with and without contrast. I will explain. There will be a nurse or a tech start an IV on you. They will put on a long slender table and your head will go into a doughnut looking thing. This will only take a minute to complete. If they do the contrast they will inject x-ray dye through your IV so they can the vessels in your head. They will inject the dye and scan you again. Be sure to tell them if you are allergic to iodine, shrimp, seafood, or even strawberries. They will take a very detailed history. The whole process shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes once they call you from the waiting room. Good luck!!

sensible ability the experiment isn't thoroughly common yet.....having a good experiment does no longer inevitably advise that it really is something "undesirable". a good CT can advise findings of the experiment "in high quality condition" with inspite of the actuality that symptom brought on the experiment. Findings will be something from something as gentle as sinusitis to a benign (non maximum cancers) mind tumor to information of a stroke to extra severe issues. i believe that her physician might want to order an MRI of the mind - it really is extra tender than a CT experiment and could provide further information. She is often noted a professional, neurology or neurosurgery - reckoning on the searching. carry close in there and be sensible to ask questions so that you comprehend the archives given to you and would use that to assist make reliable judgements such as your Grandma. reliable luck to you and your spouse and youngsters. **EDITED** above and lower than after your better archives: If the aneurysm HAS no longer ruptured - she'll be noted a neurosurgeon and an MRI/MRA and/or an angiogram will be recommended. treatment relies upon on her age and health and the size of the aneurysm. some will be "coiled" (a technique in radiology) and others "clipped" (substantial surgical operation yet each and every from time to time the purely option) to save them from rupturing. If it has ruptured - this stuff got here about urgently. reliable luck - digital mail me if extra archives would help.
