Yes. I believe teaching it could help dispell many myths that parents don't touch on.

Should Biology be taught? Unless you want to get rid of Biology, sex education is an important area that needs to be taught. In addition to understanding reproduction, it's pretty important for kids to know the repercussions of sexual activity. Imagine no one tells you how you can get pregnant, or no one tells you about STDs. I think it's to simplistic to believe that kids already know what is being taught in sex ed. Many kids these days grow up with just one parent, and even when they have two, schedules are so busy that parents tend not to pass as much info along. I would be horrified to rely on TV and the internet for educating my child about sex. I think it is still impactful to the students, without a doubt.

It is almost a necessity to teach sex ed in school. Almost every single tv show out there glorifies sex without ever really mentioning the consequences that comes with those actions. Unless your kid does not watch tv, the mystery of sex will be on their minds. Some young adult thinks that getting pregnant is the worst that can happen with having sex and they are willing to pay that price. But what about death. Are they willing to die with AIDS just to have sex. Most kids do not understand that they can get sick from having intercourse with an infected partner. This is where sex ed comes in, to educate the young minds and answer any myths about sexual actions.

Sex ed should be taught but I think most important is teaching them NOT to do that and providing PLENTY of other options.... Kids have it on their minds especially due to the media and movies out today... They need the education but not the PERMISSION to go out and have sex all over the place... The values of today are sinking... and Sex ed is a touchy subject .. u have to be sure not to let the kids think oh ok its fine to have sex as long as I wear protection.. ideallly they would wait until marriage where its so much safer!

I was taught sex ed. in high school. I think it a good thing to educate people about. Some parents don't have the sit down talk with their kids about sex.

Yes, indeed. There is no real reason not to teach it in schools. I do not understand why people wouldn't want it. It will give youngsters the right knowledge of what to do and the risks of sex in certain situations. If we didn't teach them then they would only learn themselves from a trial and error method i.e. if something goes wrong then they will have to live with the consequences, but if we teach them about it then they can avoid that problem in the first place.

Absolutely!! I think it's easier for a kid to hear the more "clinical" aspects of sex from someone who isn't related to them. I mean, let's be honest...how many kids would really be that comfortable asking their parents sex questions? My husband and I openly encourage our sons to come to us with any questions, but I know they are still rather embarrassed. It would be great for them to learn about it in a classroom setting, then we can discuss it with them and answer any further questions they might have.
Sex is so prevalent and in your face at younger and younger ages these day. You can't hide your kid from it.. They need to learn about it. Kids need to be educated about sex, about what it is and what can happen (pregnancy, disease, etc.) if you do it. These religious zealots who think sex ed "encourages" kids to have sex are crazy! Kids are going to want to anyway. Don't we all remember being 16? Wouldn't you rather they learn about it and how to protect themselves when they do decide to do it? Sex eduaction isn't going to make a bunch of kids run our an start having sex. What it will do is encourage them to think about it and the consequences involved. I still believe kids should be encouraged to wait until they are older before engaging in sex, but let's be real. It's already shoved down ours and our kids' throats and they don't understand it. Parents and schools should be teaching as much about it as possible!!

Yes, defiantly. Why? because kids are gonna learn about it eventually. And if not in school its gonna be on the internet, and you don't want a kid taught about sex on that. Won't end well.

It should be taught in school. The only thing they probably will get out of is the knowledge of STDs and teen pregnancy. Teens will be teens and we can't stop them.

Yes. it didn't teach and tell me to go out and screw everything.
Without it, I'd be clueless on a lot of things such as STDs, condoms, body parts, etc.
