I can't answer about your community because I don't know which community you're talking about. If you mean here on Yahoo answers, you sure can feel lonely.
The number of questions about homos and lezzies are way out of proportion to the general population. Something here seems to attrack misfits.

No you should feel good about it! Is great to help someone out. It makes my day when I can help or at least give a different perspective on things. When people need something you can give. Then you give. It might make their day. And their life could be made better because of the support you gave. Straight has nothing to do with it. Your question there?

If you feel lonely, you feel lonely. There is no 'should' with feelings: they are irrational and not subject to control. What matters is how you respond to your feelings.
Example: I hate my boss. I want to kill him. I go to work each day and smile and do not kill him. Its that simple.
What IS wrong is having repeated feelings of lonliness and doing nothing about it. Community service and social 'goodness' is not a substitute for a relationship, nor does it cause or motivate The Great Spirit to give you a relationship. You need to find your relationship on your own.

Did you need to add something to this question? Because it honestly makes no sense. What communities? Gay communities? Dog parks?
