in one of my classes, i talked to an 85 year old woman who is from my homewtown, boston. i go to school in PA. she was auditing the class and always really nice to me. i got to know her pretty well. i'm graduating this semester and want to take her to the dining hall. we talked about it. would it be socially awkward if the girl i like sees me eating with an old lady or would it seem like a sweet gesture??
i want to take her to the dining hall as a way of saying thank you for being so nice and friendly to me and saying good bye.... but would a girl see this as being a loser or being sweet?

Tim, don't use the old lady just to call the atention of the girl u like. Of course it is somenthing sweet and beautiful that u take the old lady for the dinner at the dinning hall, but do it... just because she is the person you want to be with that day ... honesty in the heart por favor.

Give me a break. You know darn good and well that the lady would totally enjoy it. I guess what I would say to you is that it is wonderful that you are kind and caring about other people. However don't you think it is very shallow to miss this chance to be kind based on what someone else might think. Take your friend and enjoy it. Oh and by the way I am a female and if I saw you doing that it would melt my heart to see that. So if you are worried about how other girls would see you they would see you as a great guy whether you are a handsome hunk or not.

I think it is a very sweet thing to do! You just want her to know that she touched your life in whatever small way and you think she is great. Any girl that says that is a" loser" thing to do, is imature. Do not do this because you think a girl is going to be impressed however. True niceness needs to come from the heart!

She'd see it as being sweet and really appreciate that you could do something like that for an old lady to make her feel special for a little while. Awwww so sweet.

You would be doing the right thing, so you should not worry what other people think. It would be a wonderful thing to do for her, and she would never forget it. Honestly do you think any girl will look at the situation and think you prefer 85 yr old women to a college girl. Do the right thing and invite her to have a meal with you.

Would you *really* be interested in a girl who thought you were a loser for being someone who easily befriends everyone? I mean seriously - aren't you more concerned about what kind of person *she* would be? Might be a good way to find out. I wouldn't want anything to do with someone who thought I was weird or a loser for befriending someone who might usually fall out of my "comfort zone" of friendship.

It would be being sweet. It is like a son taking a mother or a grandmother and there is nothing wrong with that.

I think that girls would see it as being really sweet. Only shallow girls would see it as being a loser.
