Using sweet-sounding and inoffensive euphemisms to describe deeply introverted and possibly pathological behaviour has been the norm for yonks.

Time for it to stop? You tell me.

Some years ago I read a biography of the man. Doan no why, 'cause I never have cared much for his work. He is the father of nothing. Pissaro is the founder of the sliding planes and geometrical compositions that Cezanne adopted with a much less interesting pallet. But he is supposed to be some sort of forerunner of cubism.

He was emotionally jacked around, no doubt, but he was not shy. He was, in fact, singularly rude and offensive. When he was painting from nature and people stopped to observe his work, he customarily swallowed enormous quantities of air, and then let go a "flutter-blast" to embarass all in the vicinity.

His hangup was largely about women. He seems never to have had any women in his life who did not begin as his models, and were judged by others to be excessively unattractive. He was Jewish and fought constantly with his family, and was sort of rejected or maybe rejected them. Like Pissaro, he could have come into the family businesses and had no worries, by they wanted to paint, went to Paris and cast off the family connection.

Pissaro sold one painting in his life to an American, whom he felt obliged in fairness to advise that it was a poor investment. He sold the canvas for what he reckoned the paint had cost him.

An artist is an artist. You should look more to the paintings and less to the biography. Who minds if Van Goth was a fool, for example ? What we care is his works, and the messages they contain !

They are very aware of the power of the tea party vote and are afraid to alienate us farther then they already have, but like the Judge said they have found alternate ways of disrespecting us, like telling the CBC to take off their slippers and put on their marching shoes (or jack boots)
