How would you decorate this livingroom?

Dark blue carpet, gry and white walls, light blue couch and chair. small space. one window. can't paint or do anything too perm, need an idea to separate the kitchen and livingroom also. help!!!!!!

Separate the kitchen and living room with cube storage. It will serve two purposes at once - form a barrier and provide more storage space. The same can be achieved with a low bookcase - if it is low it will not cut off too much light.

Don't klnow about the rest, but to seperate the rooms, you can use a chair and lamp to visually seperate the spaces or, you know those knock-down furniture places like IKEA? They have really cute book cases that are open on both sides. You could place something like that there and put knick-knacks on the shelves. You could also make a room-dividing screen pretty easy, if you can use a hammer and nails. Make a couple wooden frames and hold 'em together with hinges. Use a coordinating fabric or lace in the middle of the frames.

bring in some indirect lighting, maybe some colorful plants. it sounds pretty dark with the colors of the carpet and walls. i would do some kind of translucent window treatment or something, to maximize the light you do get from the window. to separate the rooms...use your furniture. make sure you arrange your living room conversationally. furniture doesn't have to be against wall. maybe get one of those folding divider screens. they make nice ones. some of them you can put pictures in.

For your walls you can take wrapping paper and cut into strip of 14-18 inches wide and use it like wall paper and space them evenly around the living room. that would serparate the rooms for you.
