Some of your sinusitis may be triggered by allergies, which could be why it keeps coming back. Need to discuss with your doc & see if a referral to an allergist is in order. They can do tests, find what you're allergic to and help you get this under control.

I have had Sinus problems for most of my life- starting w/ severe allergies when I was about 10 yrs old & I'm 39 now!
You need to find out which sinus pocket is causing the problem because there are 4 on the face; 2 under and 2 over the eye socket area. The headches are mostly from the upper area- a warm & moist heating pad can help alleviate the pain. You may also want to try "Calms Forte" which is a Homeopathic remedy designed to relax the body so you can sleep.
I would never, ever go back to taking Prednisone or Cortisone again because it leaches Calcium out of your bones and that will come back to "bite you" later on in Life.
I would definitely see an Allergist to find out exactly what you're allergic to and try to remove some of those things from your daily living. It's hard, I know- I had to give away a whole bunch of stuffed animals when I was younger & I didn't understand why. Now, I do.
There really is no absolute "cure" for Sinusitis; you may want to invest in a good humidfier for your bedroom, stay hydrated, try a Sinus Gel and adjust your Life a little bit. If I can do it, so can you! I live with it year-round!
Good Luck and God Bless, A.J.

My fiance has suffered from chronis sinusitis for a long time, combined with allergies, especially in the spring. He has had the CT scans, was told he needed surgery to correct it, etc. He also suffers from headaches just about every day, which sometimes turn into literally blinding migraines that put him off his feet for a day or more. I have visited places such as web md, and most suggest the same coping techniques...over the counter decongestants, warm, moist heat on the face a few times a day, nasal sprays, etc. I have seen that sinusitis has it good days and bad. From the research I've done, it just seems to be a chronic problem you may deal with throughout life. But, of all the potential medical conditions out there, sinusitis falls into the category of "annoying". Good luck finding relief.

its an infection. its not going to go away like.. i dont know what. sinusitis will be with you for a little while and longer if you aren't takin your meds.
drink a lot of fluids. vitamin c helps. use dristan or sudafed but not regularly or your stuffed nose can get worse. just at night when you are getting ready to sleep.
worse case scenario.. the infection travels to your throat and lungs. you get a sore throat and potential bronchitis. it can spread to your ears and become an ear infection which includes temporary hearing loss which can last for weeks even after the infection is gone. sooner or later it can become pneumonia if your body isn't healthy enough.

so, did you get the CT scan?? you need to start there. and hopefully you are seeing an ENT doc.
My ENT doc office sells a sinus rinse kit and it works good The gel is ok. or you can sniff a mixture of salt and water through your nose. 1/4 teaspoon of salt to 8oz of warm water. use spoon to sniff it up. oh, and humidifiers are not good. they grow bacteria.

Please check out webmd and search for Sinusitis.
It will be very helpful to you.
There is a video about a possible surgical solution from a woman that has experienced the symptoms and been through treatments you described.

I have chronic sinusitis. Have you had your ears checked? Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot you can do about it.
