My husband gave me a Toy Poodle when we were dating, were married now and everytime that we get into arguments he threatens me of hurting the dog. Why does he do that? My dog whose name is Stewie I love him I treat him like my baby and my husband doesn't like that sometimes. I like to sing to my dog I like to talk to him like a baby and my husband hates that. My dog runs away when ever he sees him but when my husband calls him he just goes up to him but with his tail between his legs. Other times when my husband pick him up he'll just pee all over the place. Other times when I get home from work I see the dog tighed up outside and I hate that because my dog has white fur and he gets dirty very easily and sometimes when I pick him up he has flees on him. I take care of him I feed him and I play with him. Am I over doing with the dog or is my husband just being mean?

Your husband needs help. Any adult who threatens to hurt a dog to get back at a human has a problem.
He is obviously jealous of the dog. What would he do if you had an actual child? Would he be threatened and jealous of the kid?
This is scary to me because this is abuse. You need to find counseling and talk more in depth to someone about the relationship as a whole and make sure you are safe.
Your husband doesn't have to love the dog, feed it, groom it or even be in the same room with it. It's not about him liking the dog, its about him threatening to hurt the dog in order to hurt YOU.

your husband hates how the dog gets more attention then he does. I have the same issue my husband babies my mini dachshund when he gets home from work and he has the dog all day whith him!!! so I get jelouse because I get no attention and the dog gets shoved up his rear all the time, its just how humans are sometimes, so all I can say is give less time to the dog when your husband is home and more to him and then when he is not home have fun with your dog as much as you like!!
Also the tail thing is done to me to by my mini its showing that he knows your husband is the alpha and is scared of him because he understands that and thinks he has done something wrong to upset the alpha, but if you have no proof of your husband hurting your dog dont bring it up because it can bring your relationship down the hole because of you sticking up for a dog and on a comment you have no proof of, so just take a deep breath and ask your husband why the dog upsets him so much and eventually your husband will spill his guts or he will see how much it is upsetting you that he hates your dog and will start loving your four legged friend

Your dog is being submissive...your husband may not be abusing him but Stewie knows that your husband dislikes him. Your husband sounds both a little annoyed and a little jealous... remember you do need to treat your husband better than the dog.

Spend more time with your husband, i'm a female and i have dogs but i can see why he's pi**ed off. i would be to. And if you look deep enough you'll se that if the boot was on the other foot you'd be annoyed to. When your husband comes home spend time with him, im sure you'll still have plenty of time for the dog.

Your husband is being mean. I suggest counseling for him.
Unfortunately, that may not help. Your husband has a jealousy issue, and is insecure and is taking it out on the dog because he knows how much the dog means to you.

If your dog is acting like that around him, it sounds like your husband is abusing the poor guy. You have EVERY right to baby your dog...he is your baby!! You may not see your husband hurting him, but I bet he is. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you ever see it, do exactly to your husband what he does to the dog, see if he likes it.

That really stinks, but I'm sure he does it because it gets to you. When people are mad, they will do a lot to hurt somebody. You're not doing anything wrong, you're hubby is just being a jerk.
