Yes, you are right, I don't like to see it, it reveals to me how extreme and brutal my own sin is. I sat there crying and actual saying "Why won't they stop it, just stop it"

Not only can I scarce watch the Passion of the Christ I can hardly watch any form of the crucifixion of our Lord even the plays at church on Easter..I can almost feel the pain. Then to realise I caused it is hard to comprehend why he would go through that for such a sinner as myself, he is just AWESOME

No true christian likes to see any person scourged. Christ had to be scourged according to scripture.
ISA 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

Yes, you are right to a point. It was hard to watch Jesus being beat like that and not think that he went through that for me and not feel bad about it. Most people do not want to watch something like that because it makes them feel guilty about what they are doing or not doing for the Lord considering what the Lord went through for us.

I am an atheist and it still was a disturbing movie especially that part I cant imagine that it is an easy thing for Christians to view.

I did not like to see it but it happened. If they wanted to be completely accurate Christs face would have looked like hamburger hanging on the cross as he was so badly beaten.

I don't like to see it but I need to see it. I need to be reminded of what Jesus did for me.
The most valuable gifts are those that require sacrifice.
Jesus gave us the most valuable gift at the greatest price to Him

Although it is not easy to watch, knowing that He did that for me and you and everyone else, that is exactly what the purpose of it was for, to show that He loved us enough to go through all of that pain, and to remind us it was for us that He did it for.
