Yes. I have faced difficult decisions, been placed in dangerous situations and have pulled through.

God did not deliver me from anything. I don't believe that "god" is a conscious entity, nor does it care or not care about anything. I was the one who saw my way through, stumbling along the way, guided by my own wisdom, inner strength and courage. I relied on the wisdom of family and friends, I shared their strength, leaned on them when I needed help and in turn let them lean on me when I was needed. The love I felt from them, and the relief I felt when my problems were over were a result of what I consider God, but they were not given directly, or as a result of faith. I had to work things out, and decide for myself.

I will not expect a man who has been dead for 2,000 years to deliver me from anything. This kind of mentality is the reason why so many non-Christians think that Christians use their religion as a crutch. "I can't do it without Jesus!" "Have faith in Jesus and that's all you need!" This makes Christians appear dependant, needy and weak. Sad how such a wonderful message has been twisted by mankind.

I've read a lot of questions here who faced that and lost faith because they expected a miracle.

Don't expect and you won't be disapointed.

God expects you to get out of your own difficulties. I mean, you grew a brain, you learned right and wrong, good and evil, you wanted to be as Gods! You can't figure a way out of a problem, maybe you shouldn't have eaten that apple and stayed in ingorant bliss in Eden forever.

Will he deliver the people in Darfur?

Did he deliver the slaves that died in bondage?

Perhaps he'll just deliver one of your ancestors.

I've been through some rough times, and myself out through strength, not placebos or crutches.
