Yes we will all stop smoking and then everyone will have to find theTEN BILLION POUNDS in revenue that the Government make on cigarettes.Yippee higher taxes for everyone.
They also lose 28 Billion a year on smuggling so if they are added together us dirty buggers generate 38 Billion a year.So it IS true in the saying "where there's muck there's money."
Oh and by the way i don't drink but i socialise in pubs, and all the loud stupid morons that do things in beer that they wouldn't do sober really should stop being selfish and start thinking about the people that just want to have nice quiet night out.It does work both ways.

My sisters both work in a pub, one owns it ad the other is a manager. They employ 8 members of staff - 6 between the aage of 18 and 26. One one of the older members of staff smokes.

Up until March both my sisters suffered from colds, chesty coughs, sore throats and irritated skin. Their cloths stank and in general they felt off colour now and again.

Their staff members suffered the same way.

Since the smoking ban was put in place all members of the staff are healthy and happy.

Smoking is a selfish habit that makes others ill. Drinking in moderation only hurts yourself, smoking 1 cigarette effects everyone in the room.

Most people aren't bothered about the ban so I think your plan will fail miserably. All you'll do is get a fine and find yourself barred.

What a waste of time and a conceited (and self centered) effort to poison the non-smokers in the pub. If I saw that attempt, I'd get the fire extinguishers out and soak anyone with a cigarette in their mouth.

Banning smoking in pubs is one of the very few good things the government has done for us. Long may it continue! If you want a tab, pop outside. That way, you'll only bother and poison other smokers! Us non-smokers can then enjoy a pint without coughing and struggling to breathe. I hate stinking of smoke after going out for a drink. It's disgusting.

You'll get used to it bud. Have spent a lot of time in norway & Ireland over the past couple of years and nearly everyone is fine with it now. You'll find the best places to be are the heated smoking terraces that'll spring up in every bar. Even the non smokers sit out there for the laugh.

what makes you think that you have right to pollute the air that i want to breathe. Smokers stink, glad they have banned it in Scotland and cant wait till they ban it here. I for will will take great pleasure in reporting smokers to the authorities when the ban comes in.

I'd like to stamp my foot on any cigarrette I saw being smoked, and I am not to bothered if it had been taken out of the mouth first

you know.....I'm a smoker who completely agrees with the ban but............ the whole point of this ban is to make Scotland a more beautiful healthy place, any tourists who come here must think were all a bunch of smelly chain smokers......you just have to drive along one street in Edinburgh and all you can see are hundreds of people huddled outside pubs/shops what is that doing for Scotlands tourism ?

Give up smoking. That's the best idea. Because you don't like the law it doesn't stop it being the law. Now grow up.
Can't wait for the smoking ban to start in England.

With regard to the smoking ban in Scotland, did you know it is illegal to smoke in company owned vehicles, as these are classed as workplaces, and you cannot smoke in a public telephone, these are classed as enclosed public places!

And they say the Irish are stupid!

You'll get arrested and a criminal record. That will make you a very attractive prospect to employers wouldn't it??? It's not worth the hassle, just accept it and either give up or smoke outside.
