Dyed my hair (professionaly) dark brown - almost black and now I want to go back to blonde. While Ive had this brown-black color, ive gone to the salon once a month to get a semiperminent brown/black touch-up (last time i went was one week ago). Im done w/ the brunette thing & want to get my natural color back (blonde), When is the soonest I can do this and how should I do this (graduall highlights or strip the color?).

:I would go into a hair salon and ask them. They can give you free advise and they would have a better idea since they would be able to see/touch your hair, and because of their education in the cosmetology field. They do want to give you the best advice considering the fact the your hair is there walking advertisement. ;)

You could try this at home but you'd be better off going to a salon. My hair is naturally blonde as well and it's been dyed just about every possible color. In order for you to go back to blonde and it actually look nice, you will have to have your hair bleached and then dyed. Hopefully, you'll have less trouble than I did. When my hair was black, i had to have it bleached 3 times and dyed twice before i was blonde again. You can get this done whenever you choose since you have only gotten the semi-permanent touch ups. Those aren't as harsh as a level 3 permanent. Good Luck =)

Ask your hairdresser; only a pro can successfully take you back to a significantly lighter color without damaging your hair. He/she will recommend a course of action.

I do know that the longer you wait the harder it is to get the color out, but if you've been coloring the entire length for some time now, timing isn't so much of an issue.

i did the same thing.. depending on how long ago u dyed it brown, u should wait at least a month before u dye it again and dont shampoo it for a couple days beforehand then the color will take better

I would suggest gradual highlights....why so dark in the first place...light brown would have been better....not everyone can pull of dark brown or black..

Strip it. Or else it will turn red. Black plus blonde makes red. So you gotta strip it, so it will be 100% blonde!

you definatally need to go back to your stylest to go back blonde...but i would say since your doing a semi per. you could go in about 2 weeks or so and you might have to go back gradually or you might be in the salon all day

be careful if you do strip your hair, it can damage it and make it very dry!.
