They were commonly called the Jim Crow laws. You can do an internet search using that term, or you could use segregation laws.

They didn't come into effect until 1920's after several states sent representatives to study south africia. Believe it or not at the time it was viewed as a model of interracial co=operation. Before that I am only aware of laws againsr inter=racial marriage
