I was wondering if you consider jesus in your lives as a person in history who has taught you how to interact with people, love,...etc. Or if you dismiss him compleatly...I guess my question is ..How do you feel about him?

He had good ideas about love, etc., but those ideas were not his, they had been around for centuries. They were just good common sense answers in many cases.

Totally agree. The only problem I can see with that is if you have a teacher that wants to shove their opinion on how THEY think you should handle things instead of teaching the kids how to think for themselves. I think it would be great if there was a required class all four years of high school for those kind of life skills. Heck, alot of adults could use one too. We could actually give these kids scenarios to act out with each other. Let them see how you can get so much further in life by actually being mature and not losing your head in anger etc. etc. I think there may be some classes out there in practice in some school systems but the problem is they are voluntary classes and that misses so many kids. Also someone else said teach them how to balance a checkbook and other stuff. YES! They probably do that in some business classes but once again that is not a required class. It should be and don't let these kids pass until they know how to do it. They should also be taught the meaning of the word RESPECT! This should be taught at home but it dosen't hurt to teach them to think about it in school. R= responsibility toward others E= empathy for others S= seriousness about others P= politeness toward others E= example toward others (setting a good one) T= training oneself to do all of the above Life really is all about maturing and understanding others so why shouldn't we help our kids n these areas more? I also feel government should be a required class in all of the high school years.Have you seen some of the answers on here from some of these people who don't even know the difference between a liberal and a conservative? I don't care what you believe because everyone is different and that's what makes our country great but these kids should know WHY they believe AND the consequences of what could happen when they do. Agree?

I believe Jesus was a product of his time. He taught lessons that apply to the society in which he lived. I don't think he taught a lot of love or how to interact with people in a positive way.

Jesus askes the men to leave their wives and childrent to follow him. This is neglecting children, which is considered abuse. Not to mention the unfair burden placed upon the woman who did not have many career choices at the time. Matthew 19:29

Jesus is fine with people beating their slaves. Luke 12:47

Jesus doesn't have even the slightest objection to the cruelties of OT laws. Matthew 5:17

I don't feel anything about him, there's not even proof he ever existed, short of writings in the bible, which are completely suspect and untrustworthy. Especially in terms of writing about Jesus of Nazareth, since no texts were written about him until what, 30 years after his death? Or was it 60 ... Bah, more sleep required.

The bible can't be used as factual backup, since it's written by man and prone to contradictions, fallicies and flat out wrong information. Without that bible, there is no proof such a man ever existed.

IF he did exist, and add a lot of emphasis to that IF, then I would label him quite clearly schizophrenic. If someone in this day and age proclaimed to be the son of God, society would have him in a white jacket in a rubber room before anyone could say second coming.

Jesus responded with anger often when questioned, even overturning the tables of what he called 'greedy heathens'. He didn't have a job, or produce anything beneficial for society. He spent 40 days in the wilderness fasting and 'talking to satan', and was eventually given the same death penalty that Romans gave to everyone.

Having studied the Bible, from multiple perspectives, I just don't see what the fuss is about.

I mean seriously... Christians needs someone telling them to love their neighbor to know it's a good thing to do? I thought that was just common sense.

Jesus seems like he was a good person who exemplified a life all of us should lead, regardless of religion. To be peaceful and forgiving, to not judge. I never had a problem with his teachings, but the Bible has too many contradictions. And many followers feel because they were "saved", they don't need to try to follow in his footsteps.

If people truly followed his teachings, Christians would be respected much more.

This is good, because so many people who don't believe that He is Christ will say 'He was a good teacher" when in fact His claims go against that if He was NOT the Son of God.

How can someone call someone else "good teacher' if in fact they are psycho? Jesus either is the Son of God (which I believe) or He was crazy.

I regard Jesus as an enlightened teacher much the same as Buddha. He was an example to follow not a divine saviour who could wash away sins.

If the bible is the only source of proof submitted for the existence of Jesus then NO I don't believe in him.
I mean the bible attributes : raising the dead, curing the blind, changing water into wine, feeding thousands with a few fish etc, etc., My reasoning can't accept that. sorry!

He was ok. There are others who I would say were better but then again Jesus didn't write his own book and nobody properly recorded his teachings the way they did with the Buddha and Lao Tzu.
