Sorry you are in pain

Have the doctor check for things such as rheumatoid arthritus....this can effect both sides of the knee's, arms, feet etc. at the same time. It also makes one have a high temprature...lot of pain.

Pain killers can also cause side effects such as passing out, I have had seizures on those pills....

What kind of surgery did you have?

Are the blackouts because you are locking your knees?

I'm 24, had a lateral release on both my knees when I was 20. I though it was a miracle for about 6 months. but after that, it left me with floating knee caps with about the same pain.

I'm glad your going to see a doctor. In the meantime pay attention to when you hurt and when you don't. You'll probably notice several patterns emerge (what kind of shoes you're wearing, what activities you are doing, what amount of ice, rest, or painkillers is good etc). I've spent the last 5 years picking out these patterns and I must say it's really helped reduce my pain. I've found a lot of little (easy to do things) like careful shoe shopping make a world of difference.

Good luck!

I don't know much about that. All I can advise you is to make sure that the doctor doesn't simply send you home with some prescription for pain relief. He should check your knees, maybe have go through some tests, etc. It sounds like this could be a serious problem, so don't take it lightly. Go to another doctor to get a second opinion if you need to. I hope you get better.

I am 16 and have had 6 knee surgeries for patella chondromalacia, dislocation, and patella femoral syndrome.
My knee locks and gives out all the time, and I have reinjured it from that.
Go to your doctor soon please!
It could be arthritis, but make sure its not ligaments or a dislocation, or anything like that!
Please go soon, I know that knee pain is horrible, go before it gets worse.
