Making fun of something is far different from logically and clear-headedly pointing out the flaws in the system.

What a great question! I'm sick of the attitude these people carry... holier than thou... the Christian soldier... although most of them are in church because they just want something to believe in that elevates them above everyone else. It's a big money business, hell some big churches around even have you pay 10% of your income every year just to go there.
I don't think it's prejudiced to be against that... if it is, then they are just as prejudiced as we are for only seeing it their way and treating us differently. It's good that you have read the Bible and Quran, that way you can say 'been there, done that, and still it's bullshit!' and I can be the first to tell you, they DO NOT deserve special treatment. These people are believing in abstract concepts that were brought about a couple thousand years ago. How bizarre is that?

I don't think mocking religious people is "prejudice." It's just rude. I am not religious, but I still treat other people as I would like to be treated. Why would I want to mock a religious person who hasn't personally done anything to me? Should I scorn them because they have religion and I do not, when really its a 50/50 chance that they're right and I'm wrong? Should I look down on them just because they have beliefs that are different than my own? Should I hate anyone who is different than me? Now, that does sound a little bigotist, doesn't it?

Becasue people are conditioned by society that there are certain things that are still taboo and mocking religion is one of them...whether one agrees or disagrees with that the fact is when someone mocks a religious idea no matter how factual the information...people are going to object out of conditioned response...a very Pavlovian response and one that most are unaware of, unable to resist and unwilling to do anything to correct. Plus people tend to see religion in the same vein as ethnicity as far as it still being a "sacred cow" and mocking an ethnic group is still frowned upon....Remember that most people dont have much knowledge about their own, or any other religion beyond what they are told in church and assume everyone else is the same, ergo...to them people aer making statements without knowing the "facts" and that is prejudice. It is an odd logic, but that's how they do it...
Beyond that...it is really a matter of perspective...some people will take unbridge to even the slightest comment and others will not care no matter what is said...

Hey, if I can be entertained while fighting a necessary battle, then heck, I come out ahead. With some of the fundies on here, spewing their ignorant and hateful views, mostly it's like a car wreck. You can't help but slow down and gawk.

They don't. But I have a hard time believing you've read both the Bible and the Quran since you cannot spell and cannot hit the "check spelling" button either. I believe that you are just another non-believing ****** out to convince everyone that he is better than them since he isn't "stupid" enough to believe.
Personally, I'm not a "godfolk" but I find it smarter to believe and be wrong than NOT believe and be wrong.

only ignorant people making sweeping generalizations about another group of people...
What your doing will hurt Innocent people who have done nothing wrong, you might even push a couple over the edge and they will respond with hate to you. If that sounds okay to you than continue ur blind lashings. But its you who has to live with you, and the only thing u are really changing, is urself. The thing you should be questioning is if that's what you really want to become.

In a free society with freedom of speech they do not deserve special treatment. But in our society we have bent over backwards to respect the right to religious observances. Because organized religions reflect and express the feelings of the individuals that belong to them they appear cruel, ignorant and racist.
The Bush administration has taken this to a new art form by using his faith to maintain his political power and control. When you put your religious beliefs out there, be prepared for public scrutiny.
And remember this is not the first warning about those who would bare false witness.

It's funny because here you are being prejudice and not getting it. Do you know what prejudice MEANS? In it's simplest form it is PRE JUDGE. You are PRE JUDGING people. So ummm a JUDGEMENT of someone you NEVER MET is a PREJUDICE. As to no one throwing a fit if you are prejudice against Communists, go to North Korea or China and speak against Communism and see what happens. Go to Cuba and speak against Communism and see what happens. Yeah just because we are raised against Communism in America doesn't mean NO ONE cares. As to liberals go prejudice them and make fun of them and yeah they will care. Make fun of the public officals and they "don't" care because they aren't allowed to as they are in the public eye.

Considering there are many millions of "godfolk" I do not believe that you could possibly know that the "vast majority" of them are cruel and ignorant. You don't know the vast majority of them. As for those who sit back and don't protest---Where are you in all that. Should only those involved in religion protest (because some of them are protesting) but are you?
