I don't see what the big deal with braces are today. As long as you can eat and talk properly, why worry about it? They do work, but when I see people with perfectly straight teeth, I just think they think too much on how they look. One girl I know even had hers grinded down or whatever and they are all the same length. To me, it looks like she has false teeth and she is only about 21! It is not worth the 1000's of dollars to me to have perfectly straight teeth. That money could better be spent helping the poor.

i don't think age matters. i wore braces for 3.5yrs during my teen years and a retainer for 2 additional. however because of my tongue thrust, my teeth spread and i had to get braces all over again, not just another retainer. so, if you don't like your teeth and orthodontia can fix it. why not? it is worth it.
