There is a product called "Nature's Miracle" thats sold in most pet supply stores. It's really the only one that does the job right.(I have a 15wk old puppy, and this product really works..)

Depending on how long the urine was on the carpet, you may have to actually pull up the carpet to clean the padding underneath. When I had carpet I would use diluted bleach in my shampooer. people don't recommend it, but i had almost white carpet so it didn't effect the color.

If you don't own a shampooer, you can rent them. You may want to crate train the dog if this is a constant issue also.

Hope your carpet survives.

Mix vinegar and HOT water apply it to the affected area, take a absorbent towel and scrub. If it is all over the carpet then use a steam cleaner and add a little vinegar to your solution. After your floor drys thoroughly sprinkle baking powder over your floor, let it sit for a couple of hours then vacuum thoroughly.

Simple Solution - you can buy it at some grocery stores, PetsMart and Petco. It's a lifesaver for people with pets- it completely takes care of both the stain and the odor and you won't have to "soak" your carpet with anything.

White vinegar works wonders not only on stains but the smell. Try to get to the accident as soon as possible to eliminate making it harder to get out. Good Luck on house training!

Zero Odor is the best product out there. However you have to order it online. My house is neer with out a bottle of Zero Odor. Even gets rid of 'basement moisture' smells. I have 2 boxers, a chihuahua, an indoor cat, and a stinky teenage son - but with Zero Odor you would never know it unless you saw them.

Great stuff.

Eliminate the dog. Otherwise just get the carpet cleaned often and train the dog.

Use carpet cleaner and something that will keep your dog away from the carpet.
