I don't think any of them are really haunted by the dearly departed.

I've heard that when people die, sometimes they're too attached to their house on their deathbed, so when the physical body stops functioning, the consciousness stay in the house and those are what people call as ghosts.

Those ghosts when they were dying they probably are worried about their family or their possessions and did not want to let go, so there they are, as ghosts haunting a place, which could be, or not, their house when they were still alive as human.

If there is such a thing as ghosts, I would think that it was because not all people who die have unresolved issues on earth. There are houses that no spirits have any kind of emotional attachment to. Either the house was just built and there are no ghosts nearby that haunt them, or the people who died there have always died peacefully and without any unfinished business.

On the other hand, if you believe ghosts are phenomena that are generated by (living) people's minds, you will only find "ghosts" in the houses of people whose brains create auditory and visual hallucinations. People who don't have that capacity or that disorder will not experience any ghost activity in their houses.

It is all relative to the living person that's in the house. There are no ghost, only spirits that are terrorizing certain individuals who allow it.
