I am getting married in August and my fiancee and I both want red and purple as a colors but I don't know how these two colors might look together. I wanted to incorporate the two colors by the bridemaids wearing red dresses and the guys in white tux with the purple vest or purple tie. Anyone have any ideas?? I want my wedding to be unique but I don't want it to be too strange.

Have you ever heard of the red hat society. They have the red and purple theme going on. Check them out. www.redhatsociety.com

If you like the colors together on there then go for it. It shouldn't really matter what other people think about the colors or anything else pertaining to your wedding. If you like it and want it then get it. It is YOUR wedding after all.

Strange is when people get married in Halloween attire, or jump out of airplanes while saying their vows. Anyway, have fun planning your wedding and try not to stress out to much. It's suppose to be a Great thing not a stressful, wonder why we are doing this kind of thing. Cheers to the happy couple.

I like the idea of the bridemades with the red dresses & the guys with the purple vest & tie. Why not wear a white dress with a bit of red or purple in them? Also have your flowers in the colours of red & purple. It sounds lovely. Goodluck xx

Terrible. Red and purple though royal colors are contrasting to each other. I would prefer the bridesmaidl to wear purple or various shades of it like one will have a darker shade followed by another bridesmaid with lighter shade or have all of them wear the same shade. Have the guys wear their tux and a purple sash or vest. Your bouquet should be red roses with tiny white baby breath flowers. Your cake can have purple or red roses.

I would say do a red dress with a purple sash for the girls so that the girls & guys at least match somewhat with red/purple bouquets.

If you do use that color pattern, check out the different shades and tones of red and purple and see how they look. I would try to keep them lighter if possible.

Those colors would not look good. I think you should pick one of those colors that you like the most and then pick something that will match that. Some of your guest might think you are colord blind. If you have a wedding planner she can also help you. Ask some family members also the can be great help also.

gross! I love red, and I love purple, but not both of them together, purple would look a little better with pink, maybe consider that.

very dramatic and over the top for use as primary colors. you should use them as accent colors on the linen, flowers, cake, etc. your bridesmaids can alternate the colors, or your maid of honor can wear one color while the rest wear another. the vest/tux accents should match your bridesmaid dresses. you can go to a fabric shop and get swatches to compare colors/textures beforehand. congratulations to you!
