A Judge has so ruled. Does this make him one of them thar ACTIVIST JUDGES? I bet he is A CLOSET ACLU MEMBER?
Here in Indiana a State Legislator is suing to have JESUS name to be mentioned in State House opening prayers. That font of CONSERVATIVE
THOUGHT points out that JEWS represent only some 2% of Indiana citizens. Heck surely the BLIND represent less of a percentage of the U.S. population than that, no? At least until the Iraq war serves to bring the U.S. Blind population up out of its extreme minority status.
With no disrespect to the services of our brave troops in Iraq surely
CONSERVATIVES in our govt. can find ways to throw the sum mentioned
above down an Iraqui rathole. If not, how about spending it on a BRIDGE TO NOWHERE in Alaska?

I don't understand why this is a big deal. Most other countries already do something along this line, and it's a simple fix. Canada has a pattern of raised dots in the upper right corner of their banknotes. Mexico is presently issuing banknotes with raised marks in the upper right hand corner. On Japanese banknotes, the raised dots are in the watermark area.

This is a case where the US trails behind the rest of the world. These markings are also a good anti-counterfieting measure (along with the iridescent bands used on the Canadian, Mexican, and Euro banknotes) and holograms (Used on Canadian and Euro notes). This is a case of the US being kind of stupid, since they don't want to spend money to make the US dollar harder to fake.

Heaven forbid we should take off a day from fighting the war in the Middle East to pay for a program that would help the disabled.

That's an interesting point of view. The Supreme Court might even side with blind people on that one. It wouldn't take much, just a few dots on every bill or coin. Might even be an extra anti-counterfiting measure!

What jerk actually petitioned the government for this? I can't imagine a blind person doing so. Most I've met seem very self sufficient and would want this type of pity parade. It's probably some made up campaign where the senators actually pocket the money.
