Yes, or get the locks changed. Just asking for keys back doesn't mean they didn't make copies before they gave the keys back to you.

You shouldn't even have to ask this question. If you and your boyfriend "broke up", there is absolutely no reason for him to have the keys to your mailbox and apartment. He should have returned them to you when he left!

It might be better for you to change the locks on your apartment, as he could easily have made a copy. As for the mailbox, I think it's more difficult to get a copy of that key but I'd make sure I got it back from him as soon as possible.

The two of you may be getting along at the moment, but that could change quickly (especially if either of you begin to date someone else).

It's always nice to remain "friends" after a breakup, but that still doesn't mean he should have access to your mail and apartment!

Best of luck.

Yes get the keys!!!!!!!!!! If you 2 are broke up he has no right to have the keys. Even when you do get the keys back I would change the lock, because he could have had more made.

For safety reasons tell him that you need the key back or change the locks. Tell him that you and him are still cool, but you need the keep just incase you move out or something and need to give the key to who ever. Make up something.

Yes get those key girl! When I moved out of my ex-BF's apt I gave him all the keys I had. I didn't want anything tying me to that place. It doesn't matter how cool you two are, its weird that he just didn't give them back. If he is worried about his mail, tell him to have it forward to his new place and if you get some of it by mistake tell him you'll call him to come get it.

If he doesn't willingly give up his keys to you then this is his way of keeping just enough to have a tie to you. If the break up is a permanent deal for you then either ask for the keys back or change the locks. Good Luck

If he is not on the lease, definitely take the keys to both back from him! If for any reason, he starts acting like he will be a threat, then you may also want to have the locks changed too.

In the meantime, tell him you will send any of his mail on to him, or take it to him.

Yes! If he is still getting mail at your place then tell him to go the post office and fill out a change of address form so that he can have his mail forwarded to his new address.
