If they're very young, I dont expect they will understand why they must wait 3 months for their Christmas present. Obviously all the other characters are able to "contribute" via pictures. Such as, Pluto, Goofy, Dumbo, Cinderella, Snow White........the list is endless.

Get a Disney promo DVD put it in the DVD player when they start getting excited saying it's Disney hand them their mickey ears and tell them

I don't know how old your girls are but mine could never resist a treasure hunt when they were little. You could hide clues around the house and present them with the ears when they've worked it out.
